Back to simpler times. Say hello to the "Altadena Main Library" in California. A mid-century modern building which was designed by one of our favorite architect’s Boyd Georgi. This building is considered his most significant work and what makes it even more special today is, it's still largely unmodified!
The main library still shines like it did when it first opened in 1967. The interior is planned around a central reading area with a vaulted skylight, indoor lamp posts, vibrant foilage and fauna, and an eclectic collection of original mid century furniture. The clerestory windows that encircle the low-lying building purposely help to bring the outside in and in the inside out help blur the separation between the interior of the library and the beautifully landscaped gardens by the renowned Eriksson Peter and Toms.
